Tools For Cisco Networks
Cisco hardware plays an important roll in the infrastructure of many companies.  As a result of this many of our customers have asked for a suite of tools to assist them in managing their daily tasks on their Cisco products.  The following is a collection of networking tools that provide a very simple Graphical User Interface (GUI) for managing Cisco Routers.

Advanced Router CPU Load -  The SolarWinds Advanced CPU Load utility allows you to monitor and graph the load on multiple Cisco routers concurrently.  Warning and Alarm thresholds can be independently set for each device.  If the load on a Cisco router reaches the "user defined" threshold the indicator becomes Yellow or Red.

Config Downloaded - Downloads a configuration file from a Cisco CMTS or network router to your PC.  The Config Download tool you can download Configs quickly and archive them for later use.  You do not need to view the downloaded Config each time. With the Config Download utility you can specify the target directory in which to save the Configs.
Config Uploader - The Config Uploader  can be used to not only upload new a new configuration to a Cisco router but also change any Cisco configuration parameter via SNMP. This includes changing an unknown Enable or Login password.

Config Editor/Viewer - With the Config Viewer you can quickly extract the Cisco Router running config and automatically archive them for future reference. Config Viewer is also able to decrypt passwords. If you use the Config Viewer do download the running Cisco Router config from Cisco PIX or Access Servers (ex: AS5200) you can decrypt ALL User Passwords in seconds!

Compare Running vs. Startup Configs - The Config Compare from SolarWinds can be used to compare the Running Config of a Cisco Router with the Startup Config stored in non-volatile NVRAM. If someone has changed the configuration of a Cisco router, but has not committed the changes to non-volatile memory, then there will be differences in the two configurations.

Proxy Ping - With Proxy Ping it is possible to remotely initiate a PING test from any remote Cisco router to any other SNMP enabled device. The ICMP PING results are calculated based packets sent from the Cisco router directly to the other remote device.  This tools is great for testing links between two remote sites.

Router Password Decryption  -  With the Router Password Decryption tool from SolarWinds you can decrypt any Type 7 Cisco Passwords for Cisco routers. Simply download the Cisco router Config file to obtain the encrypted login and enable passwords.  Copy and Paste this encrypted string into the Router Password Decryption tool and VOILA . . .  you have the password !

CPU Gauge - The SolarWinds CPU Gauge will monitor the CPU Load on Windows 2000 machines as well as Cisco Routers and Switches.  The CPU Gauge utilizes SNMP to communicate with the remote device and display the results.

This utility has three user areas:   Setup, Load a Saved Profile and Change Tool Skin.  This application ships with several unique "skins" that can be changed to accommodate the users preference.

Router Security Check -  Due to the security nature of this tool the Evaluation Version of SolarWinds does not contain a working version of the Router Security Check tool.  The Router Security Check program will analyze your Cisco Router and determine if the SNMP Community String is vulnerable.  It will attempt to determine the read-only as well as the read-write SNMP community strings. It is important to make sure your SNMP community strings secure.
