Security Utilities
Solarwinds offers a collection of security tools and applications that allow you to test and validate the security of your network.  You can use these tools combined with the IP Network Browser to perform your own security audit.  The Router Security Check is ideal for assessing the security of the current IOS of the router.

Port Scanner - The Port Scanner allows testing for open TCP ports across IP Address and port ranges or selection of specific machines and ports.  Common port names are included with the program as well as the ability to add custom service names.  Port Scanner is extremely fast and configurable, allowing customization of the resulting view. Performance options allow scaling of scans to match machine abilities and/or firewall policies. Included is the ability to export to multiple formats allowing presentation of the data in multiple ways.

SNMP Brute Force Attack - The SolarWinds SNMP Brute Force Attack will attack a IP address with SNMP queries to try and determine the SNMP read-only and read-write community strings. It does this by trying every possible community string. You can specify the character set to build words from as well as the maximum length of the community strings to try. You can specify the character set to use to build words from as well as the maximum length of the community strings to try.

SNMP Dictionary Attack - The Dictionary Attack application uses permutated hacker dictionaries to attack network devices in an attempt to break into them or discover their community strings. The SNMP Brute Force Attack was written to allow you to create, in a controlled environment, an attack on the security of your network.  We have compiled an extensive list of dozens of known dictionaries used by hackers to compromise networks. This application will not only aggressively attack your network devices but it will let you import and permutate your own dictionaries into the the attack module.

Router Security Check - The Router Security Check program will analyze your Cisco Router and determine if the SNMP Community String is vulnerable.  It will attempt to determine the read-only as well as the read-write SNMP community strings. It is important to make sure your SNMP community strings secure. To check the security of a Cisco router or Catalyst, just enter the IP address of the target router, that's all you need. This is a very powerful security tool for Cisco Routers.

Router Password Decryption - The Router Password Decryption tool from SolarWinds you can decrypt any Type 7 Cisco Passwords for Cisco routers.  Simply download the Cisco router Config file (or use a backup copy) to obtain the encrypted login and enable passwords.  Copy and Paste this encrypted string into the Router Password Decryption tool and VOILA . . .  you have the password !

Remote TCP Reset - This security tool can remotely display all active sessions on a terminal server, router, dial-in server, access server, etc. You can also easily reset any TCP session remotely. This can be a router, server, access node, dial-up server, etc. Any device that supports SNMP.
