DIRECTIONS FROM
CHERBOURG:
Take
the N13 out of Cherbourg heading towards CAEN. Stay on
this road for 35-38 miles approximately and you will pass
through a short underpass. It is the only one
you'll go through and it has large concrete beams across the
carriageways on the entrance and exit sides. Immediately you
exit the underpass you will see a sign indicating 1000M to the
N174 (it is the St Lo exit), which you have to
take.
Heading towards St Lo on the
N174, you will arrive at the village of ST JEAN DE DAYE after
about 10km. Immediately you exit the village you will
encounter a roundabout where you turn right onto the D8 (it is
signposted LE DEZERT, PERIERS, MARIGNY).
Some 2.5Km after the roundabout
you will go through the village of LE DEZERT and about 2Km
after that you will arrive at a crossroads where the D77
crosses the D8. You need to turn left onto the D77 and
you will immediately find yourself in the village of LE HOMMET
D'ARTHENAY.
Go through the village and
ignore the two small fork turnings to your right. You
will then see a post-and-rail fence on your right, a roadsign
indicating a left-hand bend, the entrance to a house and some
more post-and-rail fence. You will then see in front of
you some chevron arrows directing you around the LH
bend. The road straightens out and you will see La
Ducrie (and the entrance driveway) on your right some 400
metres after the bend.
The drive from Cherbourg is 48
miles and should take about 45-50 minutes.
